I used this head that I did a couple of months back to do some fresnel reflection test. The bright line arround the face is the result, it's something I was doing with Mental Ray and I completly forgot to add it in my Vray shader :)

I spent some time last night on this guy
I re-textured the eyes, added details on the skinned, reduced the SSS and darkened the teeth (there are still untextured)
The settings for specs and reflections are too low at the moment and make the overall still too noisy so I will probably do one more test on it and then move on something else

I'm very impressed by the result we can get with only one light and a floating head.
It's still wip and I'm still working on it. Right now it has no hair and the spec is not there yet, I'm still trying to figure it out how it works

As you guys know I have joined the Mass Effect 2 Team last November as Principal Artist at the Bioware Montreal studio.

Aside from the main characters I also did a bunch of civilian characters for AO2.
I did around 14 of them but at the end in the game they ended up with a 512 difuse, a 256 specular and no normal map.
I still have earlier screens of 3 of them. Work I did late 2008.

I don't know what's going on with my PC but since 4 days ago my Zbrush keeps crashing and CS4 is acting funky when I press the shift key. It's driving me crazy to not be able to find what the problem is....
anyhow, here is a very early stage of a new character I just started
I'm a big fan of Marvel Thor and I always wanted to give it a try

Hey guys,
I haven't posted anything in a while, I was very busy at work and with some changes in my professional life.
I have a big update :
After more than 5 years working for EAM I decided it was time for me to go test my skills on new challenges.
Starting next month I will be working for Bioware.
I had a lot of fun on my last project Army Of Two:TFD working as the character Art Director. The game looks good and is fun to play. I hope you guys will enjoy it. As soon as I can I will show more of my work done on this game.

I'm a big fan of Alan Davis and his Clandestine comic book, and I always wanted to try to model Wallop. He is a big blue guy who becomes stronger when he gets madder (like the Hulk) but his look changes too, he become more bestial, and he can control the transformation (more or less). Ultimately I would like to do a scene with him and his two young brother and sister, Rory and Pandora. I have the scene I want to do in mind, we will see if I manage to do it or if I move on something else like always :)

Dominance War 4 starter

I think I got my idea, one that I should manage to finish on time alongside with my other projects.

His name is Glen Korr,
he is a Norm invoker who uses nature life force (pure) specialized in handling guns loaded with runes/spells that he generates.
He was called to fight against Demons due to this ability. He is fast, never reload (as long as he can speak), but should stay focused and concentrate on his spells. His gun has two mouths, one that eats the spells and the other that spits them under the shape of concentrated magic bullets.
He has magical bandages around his arm that allows him to hold/control the gun. The gun was a mana eater (small demon) that he enslaved/reshaped to use against his kind.

For this character I want to do a mix of magical and army elements. He will have elbow and knee pads, many pouches (with elixir and potions), some ammo bullet (special bullets with explosive effects), some kind of army pants mixed with leather etc.....

I just started something new, it`s from an old drawing I did a year ago and colored by a friend of mine. I always wanted to try modeling it.
He`s and undead swamp sorcerer, he will have a chest armor, rings, props etc...
I`m still playing with the proportions and haven`t touch the hands and most of the back yet.

I did a new color test, darker, that fits more what I wanted to do.
At work I`m doing a lot of muscled guys with popping veins and
exaggerated folds (for ingame) so for this Sup I wanted to do something
different.
I`m still not happy about the base and the superman written on it but I will let it be. SF4 is calling ;)

I haven`t been able to post anything for a while, I have been going through very tough times in my private life and I was very busy with work...I hope the rest of the year will be better...anyway here is a WIP render of my old superman model.
I did new characters and creatures but due to NDA I can`t show anything for now so I decided to take some time to work on a render scene....I`m still fighting with the skin shaders and all, but thanks to photoshop I managed to have something not too bad.
I still have to model the eyelashes, work on the cloth,textures etc....

Small update:
I made the skin pores stronger, added the subtool hair piece, removed a bit of red in the texture and made the details beetween the lower lip and the chin less strong.
Didn't do much on the body so far, but I added the Superman logo to see how it would look on it.

I just started texturing the head of my Superman, still have to work on the eyebrows, hair and lips. I forgot to do UV on the extra piece of hair so I don't have it in the screenshot for now. If I manage to stay away from my consoles tomorrow I will try to go back on the body

this week-end I read "Justice" from Alex Ross and the new "KingDom Come Special" one shot and I felt like trying to model Superman's head.
It's my first superheroe model, at the beginning I was putting a lot of skin marks then I realize that it wasn't fitting the character at all so I removed them.
I still have to work on the eyebrowns, the hair, lips etc...but I will wait to have the head textured before continuing the modeling.
I have also started the body, who knows, perhaps I will finish it before getting bored of it
